Damilola Ogunwale and Olakunle Tyson
-I met Kunle at a bachelor’s eve of a friend. He happened to be the one who drove to the venue of the party. We chatted a couple of times and he kept me company. The attraction for me towards him was totally different. I noticed he was very religious person and I liked that. Kunle has a merry soul; he always tries to make people happy because he is filled with so much happiness. Though my impression of him was that he was quite talkative, I liked him.
Was it love at first sight?
-Well, I won’t call it love at first sight, I’d rather say I was attracted to him and I grew to be very comfortable around him. Being with him was very different. Things just happened between us. It was like we were in a perfect sync. We grew too understand each other. I don’t think we even went through the 'asking out process'.
Where did you go to on your first date?
Being with him was always fun. I remember our first date; we went clubbing. It was so awesome just like going out with an old friend and he was really a gentle man. As time went on, we spent more time together and also shared intimate and priceless moments together. We courted for four year. Those were the beginning of happy times in our lives. We got married in the fourth year. When we fight, we try to always make sure it doesn’t go past that day. In relationships and marriages there is bound to be one form of friction of the other but when you understand your partner, you'll always find a way to sort it out.
Where did the proposal take place?
When he proposed to me, he totally took me by surprise. He came to my house on the eve of my birthday and stayed with me till it the clock struck 12. He gave me my birthday gifts and cake, and then suddenly went on his knees. Immediately I saw that, I was just breathless, and then he finally asked “will you marry me?" I had dreamt of this moment all my life and I happily said yes.
The wedding.
Preparations for the wedding went into full swing as it's always best to plan ahead for such occasions. Though we had the wedding about a year later. Planning for the wedding was really hectic because this was new terrain for both of us. We disagreed to agree on a lot of things and there was loads of pressure and tension here and there. We made precise plans for the 'D day' so as to prevent chaos and disgrunlted guest. We made adequate plans for about 1,500 guests.
How did it feel when you finally said “I do” to your soul mate?
when I said the words "I do" to the man of my dreams Olakunle, it was like a load was lifted off my shoulders. I had decided to spend the rest of my life with a man who I know loves me so much and most importantly I was happy.
The Honeymoon
We didn’t have time for honeymoon because I had to go back to work as I was given only 5 days but every moment I spend with him, will always be priceless. OWSN
